What is Bee Pollen?

Bee pollen is a superfood collected by beekeepers and harvested from the intricate dance between bees and flowers. It boasts a diverse array of nutrients including proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and lipids. It has a fragrant aroma which largely depends on the region from where it is collected. Bees collect pollen as a protein source for their larvae and as food for the adult bees in the hive. A highly underrated but essential arsenal in your healthy lifestyle, it is recognised as medicine by the German Federal Board of Health, also known as "nature’s most complete food" after a mother’s milk and egg, because of its rich and varied nutritional content. Thus, if you were ever stranded on an island and had only pollen and water to survive, your chances of survival are pretty good!

How do Bees collect Pollen?

This fascinating story involves a little science and the diligence of our beeees. When a bee flies through the air, the extreme rapid flapping of its wings builds up a positive static electric charge. This means that electrically charged bees are flying around everywhere all the time!!

Now, the pollen grains of a flower hold a negative charge. When bees land on a flower, the pollen is shaken loose from the flower’s anther. It is then attracted to the positively charged hairs on the bee’s body. After collecting the pollen, bees carry it on their hind legs, packed into ‘pollen baskets’ depositing it into the pollen storage cells once they return to the hive.

love bee pollen

I read a few reviews and people having a negative feedback for bee pollen don't know the many benefits it comes with, only focusing on the negatives which you know about or haven't reasearched well for could make you a fool. Instead of calling it foolish, please do your research well.

Selling bee pollen is fooling people

How do you expect to get nutritional benifit from 1 teaspoon, when it has only 2% rda of iron and calcium, 4% rda of vitamin C and 6% rda vitamin A..and you are claiming high in protein😂😂 only 1 g protein in 1 teaspoon..when will brands like these stop fooling people? Have guts to provide right reviews

Thank you for taking out the time to share your valuable feedback.
We appreciate your thoughtful inquiry about the role of micronutrients in bee pollen. You're absolutely right that our bodies require a variety of essential vitamins and minerals, in the right amounts, to function optimally.

As you mentioned, the quality of these micronutrients is just as important as the quantity. Bee pollen boasts a well-balanced profile of these essential elements, including protein with all the essential amino acids. This makes it a valuable addition to a balanced diet, complementing other food sources that may lack certain micronutrients.

We share your concern about the potential downsides of consuming excessive amounts of isolated vitamins and minerals. Bee pollen, as a natural food source, provides micronutrients like iron, zinc, copper or vitamins in their whole-food form, allowing for better absorption by the body. This contrasts with concentrated supplements, which may not be as well-utilised and could potentially lead to toxicity in high doses.

You've hit the nail on the head in calling bee pollen a 'superfood.' Its complete nutritional profile, packed with high-quality protein and other micronutrients, makes it a fantastic way to enhance your daily diet.

We wholeheartedly agree with your closing statement about bees. Their incredible social organisation and dedication to their hive serve as a constant source of inspiration for our own ethical and social values.

Thank you again for your feedback. We're committed to providing high-quality, natural products that support a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
